Hall and Oates Fans: This Is Not a Joke…Unfortunately
Everyone who knows me knows that I love Daryl Hall and John Oates. So this is one of those things I sincerely wish was a joke…
According to “Billboard,” Primary Wave Music Publishing is shopping a cartoon to various networks called “J-Stache.”
The cartoon is about a modern-day family man, John Oates, who finds himself “enticed back to the rock star life by his moustache.”
The pilot is currently being storyboarded and Primary Wave, which owns a majority stake in the Hall and Oates music catalog, hopes to have it completed in the next two months.
The pilot, according to “Billboard,” features Oates (who no longer has a moustache) opening a new wing of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame devoted to musicians with moustaches. Suddenly, David Crosby appears to warn him of a secret group of mustache wearers who are killing other moustache wearers.
As the group tries to make Tom Selleck its next victim, Oates summons his moustache and suddenly changes from his conservative attire into his costume of pink pants and white boots.
Primary Wave is looking to put the cartoon on a network or launch it on a website.
And no, I have no idea how Daryl feels about this. Wish I did…
But hey. If something this crazy can finally get them in the Hall of Fame, then I’m all for it…
