It's Finally Official: Drew Carey, Come On Down...
Drew Carey confirmed on "The Late Show with David Letterman" last night that he is replacing Bob Barker on "The Price Is Right."
He told Letterman that he was offered the show after CBS saw the pilot for "Power of 10." He told "The Insider" that there was no audition and that the report in Variety saying the deal was contingent on that was incorrect.
Bob Barker told the AP that he was "cool" with it, even though he was not familiar with Carey's hosting style.
No doubt, a lot of people will be watching "Power of 10" to get a preview of his skills. It premieres August 7th.
I like Drew Carey, but I'm still not sure about this. Remember all of the stumbling he used to do when hosting "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Granted, he was trying to keep his cool with three of the funniest guys on TV giving him a hard time, but still...
And I find it hard to believe that he's a better choice than John O'Hurley, but we'll see...
So what do you think of the choice?
