Pick of the Week: Kathy Sheds More Tears

Two heavy-hitting actresses are coming to TV this week, but neither is my Pick of the Week…

Monday, July 23rd, Holly Hunter takes on her first TV role in “Saving Grace” (10 p.m., TNT). Holly is a spirited detective with serious personal issues. Tuesday, July 24th, Glenn Close returns to FX with “Damages” (10 p.m.). Close plays a tough lawyer out to get a ruthless business man (Ted Danson)…

But the lady who gets the honor of being my Pick of the Week is Kathy Griffin. Now let me just say for the record that Kathy is not for everybody. She can be a little raunchy at times, but she always manages to suck you in with her kind heart. We’ve watched her cry over the end of her marriage, the death of her father and the touching stories of prison inmates. In the season finale, we’ll see her cry again as she scatters her father’s ashes in Ireland. “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List” airs Tuesday, July 24th at 10 p.m. on Bravo…
