"24" Goes Green
FOX owner Rupert Murdoch is mandating that his shows get involved in the environmental movement. And “24” is taking the lead…
Last week, FOX announced that “24” will attempt to become the first TV production ever to save enough energy and reduce enough carbon emissions over the course of a season to make its entire season finale “carbon neutral.” The show will use: biodiesel fuels for its generators and production vehicles; wind, water and solar power to run production; and hybrid vehicles for the production crew. Kiefer Sutherland and other cast members will film environmental PSAs and “when appropriate,” the show will introduce environmental issues into storylines.
