The Truth Is Once Again Out There


Yes, “X-Files” fans, it’s finally happening. And you have the writers’ strike to thank for it…

A release date has been set for the “X-Files” film sequel—July 25, 2008. Production will begin this December.

Creator Chris Carter told “Entertainment Weekly” that the movie will focus on a stand-alone mystery instead of exploring the show’s mythology. Carter will direct and co-write the script with “X-Files” executive producer Frank Spotwitz. And yes, both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are on board.

Carter told “EW” that years of contract disputes were finally resolved thanks to the threat of a writers’ strike, since a lengthy strike could delay the movie for years. Carter said, “It was either now or never”…
