The Strike Squashes “Origins”

The pending writers’ strike has already claimed its first victim…

NBC has pulled the plug on “Heroes: Origins,” its planned “Heroes” spin-off for April. The network had no comment, but sources told “TV Guide” that the strike played a role in the decision since no scripts had been written yet.

If the strike gets wrapped up quickly, though, NBC could change its mind. But considering the ratings slide and critical backlash “Heroes” is enduring this year, I don’t think they should bother…
