Who Will Join Whoopi?
As you already know, Whoopi Goldberg officially replaced Rosie O’Donnell Wednesday on “The View.”
Goldberg promised she’d bring some of her impressions and comedy to the show and said she looked forward to digging into the “Hot Topics” segment.
There was no announcement of a replacement for Star Jones. Reports are that ABC and Sherri Shepherd have been unable to agree on money. Since Shepherd would be relocating her family, she’s looking for what she considers to be fair compensation (“In Touch Weekly” reported she was asking for $2 million a year, but Michael Ausiello of “TV Guide” reports that is not true.).
Executive Producer Bill Geddie told “TV Guide” that talks are still continuing with Shepherd, but they are also in talks with other women, including Kathy Griffin. “In Touch” and “TV Guide” both report that former CNN anchor Jacque Reid is also in the mix.
The show had hoped to make the announcement on the air before its scheduled hiatus later this month, but it looks as if that won’t happen…
