Goodbye and good luck, John...

I’m playing catch-up this weekend, so let me take a minute to say goodbye and good luck to John Seigenthaler.

Earlier this month, Seigenthaler signed off for the final time as the weekend anchor of “NBC Nightly News.”

Due to budget cuts, NBC decided not to renew his contract. He had been with NBC News for 11 years.

Announcing his departure, Seigenthaler thanked NBC News and his viewers. “And thanks to my dear family. Finally we have our weekends back.”

Maybe if NBC had given Seigenthaler more to do—like fill in for Brian Williams—they could’ve justified his salary. I always enjoyed watching his newscasts and he will be missed.

I hope he lands somewhere new very soon...
