Bravo Does It to Me Again

Believe it or not, there are some Bravo shows I don’t watch…

I have never gotten into any of “The Real Housewives” series, so I didn’t get into “Date My Ex: Jo and Slade.”

But now, without meaning to, I’ve gotten myself hooked and now I’m eagerly awaiting the season finale to see how it will all turn out…

Darn you, Bravo and your endless marathons!

If you’ve never watched, “Date My Ex” is a dating show with a twist. The bachelorette is Jo De La Rosa from “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” Helping her make her choice are her two best friends, Katy and Myia (who also hosts the show) and Jo’s ex-fiance, Slade. In fact, the prospective bachelors live with Slade so he can get to know them better.

I knew something was up two weeks ago when Bravo didn’t show any promos for the show until late in the week. And when they did, they were generic promos without any episode clips. So when I had the chance to catch up, I took it to figure out what was going on.

So now, let me catch you up…

After Jo picked the final two, Chris and Lucas, Slade announced that he wanted to be considered and asked Jo for a date. When she said yes, Chris bolted for the door and Lucas followed. After A LOT of talking, Jo was able to convince the guys to stay and promised to renege on her date with Slade.

However, Jo did end up having a picnic lunch with Slade (after her dates with Chris and Lucas) at which Slade popped a big question—“Do you still have feelings for me?”

And that’s where we left off…

Now, do I think we’ve gone through this whole thing just for Jo to pick Slade? I honestly thought it was possible—especially since that’s where I thought it would go all along just by watching the previews—until I saw Bravo’s latest promos which really seem to rule that out.

But even if he’s not Jo’s choice, I can’t help but wonder if Slade had this planned from the beginning.

Oh, and did I mention that there’s a “bromance” brewing between Chris and Lucas?

Gotta admit. It’s pretty interesting…

The previews for the season finale show Jo retreating to San Diego to think and Chris and Lucas going after her. But when they get there, they find they’re not alone as Slade is there too.

Now since I have zero background on these people, you’d think I wouldn’t care. Yet somehow I do…

Bravo’s done it to me again…

“Date My Ex: Jo and Slade” airs Monday, September 8th at 10 p.m. on Bravo…

And just for the record, I’m rooting for Slade. That would be the most interesting choice, would it not?...
