"The View" will be a little less Rosie from now on...
As you've no doubt heard by now, Rosie O'Donnell is leaving "The View" in June after not being able to reach a new contract with ABC.
In a statement, O'Donnell said, “My needs for the future just didn’t dovetail with what ABC was able to offer me. This has been an amazing experience and one I wouldn’t have traded for the world.”
So what are those needs? Time to do other shows, perhaps (like the oft-mentioned "Nip/Tuck" spin-off)? Or maybe she's interested in being the host of her own show again?
There's no doubt that Rosie reinvigorated "The View"--if it ever had any vigor to begin with--and she will be sorely missed by the show, which had enjoyed a dramatic ratings increase thanks to O'Donnell's sometimes controversial contributions. I also think that O'Donnell gives "The View" its best shot ever to take home an Outstanding Talk Show Host Daytime Emmy next month.
But don't worry. I can guarantee you we haven't seen the last of Rosie O'Donnell...
