It’s a new year, so the networks are bringing out new stuff as many of your favorites crank out new episodes and several shows finally return.
Here’s a quick guide to what awaits you this week…
Wednesday, January 3rd, it’s the return of “Beauty and the Geek” on its new home, the CW (8 p.m.). ABC unveils its new line-up with the sixth season premiere of “According to Jim” at 8, followed by the premiere of two new comedies, “The Knights of Prosperity” and “In Case of Emergency.” “Emergency” stars David Arquette and Jonathan Silverman and tells the story of a group of former classmates who are reunited by chance in an LA hospital. “Primetime” holds down the 10 p.m. spot until “Lost” returns February 7th…
Thursday, January 4th, all of your favorites are new—except for “Grey’s Anatomy,” which has back-to-back repeats. NBC’s line-up—which is getting A LOT of buzz lately—is highlighted by a “House” spoof on “Scrubs” at 9 p.m. If you’ve watched any CBS over the last week, you’ve seen the commercials and know that Grissom is leaving “CSI” (9 p.m.), but don’t worry. He’ll be back. And the commercials also tell us that someone on “Shark” will die. I really hope it’s not Henry Simmons because he just joined the cast. A&E premieres a new show, “The Final 24,” which details the last day in the life of a celebrity (10 p.m.). Up first is John Belushi…
Sunday, January 7th is a BIG night of premieres. VH1 unveils two new Celebreality shows, “The Surreal Life Fame Games,” which features “Surreal” alums competing for $100,000 (9 p.m.) and “Shooting Sizemore,” which details Tom Sizemore’s struggles to get sober (10:30 p.m.). MTV debuts “I’m From Rolling Stone,” a reality show with contestants competing for a job at “Rolling Stone” magazine. Lifetime goes back to the beginning of “Grey’s Anatomy” at 11 p.m. NBC unveils its brand-new Sunday schedule with the premieres of “Grease: You’re the One That I Want” at 8 p.m. and “The Apprentice” at 9:30 p.m. “Grease” is a reality contest to find the stars of “Grease” on Broadway; and the Donald serves up some new twists this season as “The Apprentice” winning team each week gets to live in a mansion, while the losers have to live in tents on the beach. Next week, “Crossing Jordan” will take over the 10 p.m. slot. If you’re looking for sports, you can catch the Ohio Bobcats in the GMAC Bowl at 8 p.m. on ESPN. Remember when the smaller bowls were before January 1st?…
