The New "Survivor" Twist
When “Survivor” returns in February, there’s going to be a new twist…
“Survivor: Redemption Island,” which was filmed in Nicaragua, will give contestants voted out a second chance—if they can beat out everyone else vying for a second chance.
Basically, when the first contestant’s torch is extinguished, he or she is not out of it. They’ll go to Redemption Island, where they will rough it just like everyone else. When the next person joins them, there will be a contest with the loser going home. At a certain point the person who survives will be allowed to reenter the game.
Because each episode will feature a Redemption Island duel, the format of the show will have to change slightly. There will most likely be just one combined reward/immunity challenge.
“Survivor: Redemption Island” premieres Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
