Sad News From the World of Soaps

Some very sad news to report from the world of soaps today…

Frances Reid, who played Alice Horton on “Days of Our Lives” passed away yesterday. She was 95.

Though she hadn’t appeared on the show in quite some time, her presence was still strongly felt and she will be truly missed.

NBC released the following statement: “NBC is deeply saddened by the passing of Frances Reid. She was a true icon of the daytime genre and while we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her long life and the tremendous talent she shared with her generations of fans. She will be sorely missed.”

Here’s hoping that “Days” gives her and Alice the tribute they both so richly deserve…
