Actors Strike Update: A Deadline is Set
The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers gave the Screen Actors Guild a deadline today to try and speed up the negotiation process.
The good news for SAG is that along with the August 15th deadline came a little incentive. If SAG gets its membership to ratify the offer by the deadline, the deal will be retroactive to Jul 1st. If they miss the deadline, the deal will not be retroactive once one is reached.
SAG is expected to respond today.
With AFTRA approving its deal, thereby almost making a SAG strike authorization vote nearly impossible (It needs 75% of its members to vote for a strike.), SAG really just needs to get this thing done…
