ABC Announces Renewals...
Last week, ABC announced renewals for the 2007-2008 season.
Here are the shows we know will return next season: “Brothers & Sisters,” “Ugly Betty,” “The Bachelor,” “Boston Legal,” “Dancing With the Stars,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Lost,” “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “Supernanny” and “Wife Swap.”
ABC also announced that “Men In Trees” will return next season, but before you “Trees” fans break out the party hats, there is some bad news for the show as well.
The network announced that when “October Road” finishes its run next month, it will not be replaced by “Trees” (which it replaced), but will instead be replaced by double episodes of the comedy “Notes From the Underbelly.” ABC says that if “Trees” does not return this season—which is looking more and more likely—the remainder of this season’s episodes will be shown next season.
You may recall that ABC pulled that same trick with “Boston Legal” and it totally knocked its second season off track.
So why is ABC doing this? I wish I could tell you…
But hey, it’s ABC. No one ever accused them of doing the right thing…
