Proud to Be a FOX Fan

Today is a day you can be proud to be a FOX fan.

News Corporation, which owns FOX, announced today that it is pulling the planned O.J. Simpson special. The move comes after advertisers balked and several affiliates refused to air the show.

Although FOX made the decision, the real kudos here go to North Dakota’s Prime Cities Broadcasting for paving the way by being the first affiliates to refuse to air the show. Kudos to the advertisers as well for ignoring the lure of a sure-fire ratings grabber.

I’m usually opposed to affiliates and advertisers taking this kind of action, but I feel it was absolutely necessary in this case and applaud them for taking a stand.
