The CW announced today that they are cancelling "Gilmore Girls." The series finale will air May 15th...

"TV Guide" reports that Warner Brothers made one final offer to Lauren Graham and Alexis Biedel for substantial raises for a shortened 13-episode season, but the offer was rejected.

"TV Guide" also reports that the announcement was met with surprise by the rest of the cast and the crew because they thought the shortened season was "in the bag."

This will no doubt affect whether the CW renews "Veronica Mars," since they now have an extra hole in the schedule...
